In November, Estonian jazz reached the EFG London Jazz Festival, where five Estonian bands performed – Weekend Guitar Trio, Kadri Voorand & Mihkel Mälgand, Erki Pärnoja: Efterglow, Heavy Beauty, and Peedu Kass Momentum. John Cumming, the director of the festival, personally praised the performances of Estonians, but several music critics also mentioned the concert in their reviews. The concert was held in the framework of the Jazz Estonia and Jazzkaar project “Jazz Present to Europe”.
EFG London Jazz Festival is one of the most important jazz festivals in Europe and it celebrated its 25th birthday this year. Alongside with the world’s most important jazz stars, the following Estonian artists could also be heard – Weekend Guitar Trio, Kadri Voorand & Mihkel Mälgand, Erki Pärnoja: Efterglow, Heavy Beauty, and Peedu Kass Momentum.
