EESTI JAZZLIIT

Jazzahead! 2024

From 11 to 13 April, the annual jazzahead! festival, which unites the international jazz scene, will take place in Bremen, Germany, marking its 18th edition. As one of the most significant jazz festivals, it features showcase concerts, club nights, a conference
programme, and an expo area designed for industry professionals.

Music Estonia, in collaboration with Jazz Estonia, is once again spearheading the Estonian delegation’s participation at the conference, aiming to expand the network of the Estonian jazz sector, foster new collaborations, boost the visibility of Estonian artists and music businesses, engage in pivotal meetings and contribute to the advancement of international cooperation projects. We have reunited with our Baltic neighbours and are coordinating a shared expo area with our Latvian and Lithuanian colleagues.
Additionally, Music Estonia is organising a networking event and a joint Baltic reception this year. The Baltic reception will be held on 12 April from 14:00 to 16:00, and the networking event on 13 April from 16:30 to 18:00.

This year, the Estonian delegation includes Ave Tölpt and Greete Paršin (Music Estonia), Kirke Karja, Elo-Liis Parmas, Jaak Sooäär, Anett Tamm (Jazz Estonia), Ivo Heinloo (Estonian Public Broadcasting, Klassikaraadio), Liina Amon and Kätlin Carolin Noormägi (Fienta), Anne Erm, Birgit Krullo and Anu Luik (Jazzkaar), Henrik Ehte (Funk Embassy, Selektor Studio), Monika Erdman and Kaspar Kluge (Paavli Culture Factory), Mingo Rajandi, Tanel Ruben (Tanel Ruben Quintet), Lauri Kadalipp (New Wind Jazz Orchestra), Anna Regina Kalk (Anna Kalk), Karl Madis Pennar (Pennar Music OÜ, Project Pennar), Rebecca Kontus (Rebecca Studio) and Susanna Aleksandra Veldi, as well as young jazz professionals Anna Lea Haamer, Bibi Lotta Ladva, Karl Tammaru (Oakminder Music OÜ), Lisanne Pappel, Maarja Aarma (Maarja Aarma MA) and Marcus-Albert Tuul.

The delegation is partnered with Jazz Estonia, and the exhibition area is coordinated in collaboration with the Latvian Music Information Centre and the Lithuanian Jazz Federation. Klassikaraadio is a partner in this project, which is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture and Tallinn – City of Music.
