Rebecca Kontus is no stranger to grand visions. As an architect for 10 years, she was behind some of Estonia’s most prestigious projects, transforming her creative visions into the structural foundations of modern spaces. But even as she rose through the ranks of her architectural career, Rebecca never let go of her first love: music. “Music was always there, like an echo in the background of my life,” she says. “It’s something that kept calling to me, even when I was busy drawing blueprints.”
In June 2024, Rebecca made the courageous decision to step away from architecture and fully embrace her true passion. She released her sixth studio album, a genre-blending mix of electro, pop, and jazz, with reflective lyrics inspired by the post-COVID era. The album captures the complex emotions of recent years, but it pulses with an uplifting energy, as a testament to Rebecca’s belief in finding positivity amid adversity.
For Rebecca, the transition from architect to full-time musician wasn’t just about pursuing her dream, but about showing others, especially women, that it’s never too late to follow your passion. As a mother of two and wife to a supportive husband, Rebecca knows the challenges of balancing career and family. “There were moments when I thought I had to choose between my dreams and my responsibilities,” she reflects. “But I’ve realized that you can have both. You just need to be brave enough to pursue them.”
Rebecca’s story of resilience and ambition resonates deeply with her fans. Her music has always carried a spiritual undertone, but now, her compositions are infused with a new sense of freedom and joy. The upcoming tour in the USA will be a celebration of this new chapter, and she hopes her journey will inspire others to chase their own dreams, no matter where they are in life.
