Marten Männa is a young drummer and multi-instrumentalist from Tallinn, Estonia, whose musical range spans jazz and fusion, soul-funk, R&B, and pop. Alongside performing, he is actively involved in writing and producing music.
Marten has performed at festivals including Jazzkaar, Tallinn Music Week, and Tudengijazz, as well as at Philly Joe’s Jazz Club in Tallinn. He is a member of original bands such as Some Times and COLDWAVE, and has also performed as part of the backing bands for various Estonian artists. He can also often be found at jam sessions at Philly Joe’s and Terminal.
Marten is drawn to raw energy, emotion, and creativity in music, but for him, a deep sense of groove, solid time, and strong ensemble playing are just as important. He is currently writing new music with various line-ups and becoming an increasingly familiar presence on the Estonian music scene.
