Lisanne Pappel is a jazz pianist who is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Lisanne’s main musical project is Duo Tundmus, with whom she writes original music inspired by the sound of traditional jazz and musical theatre. The duo released their debut album “Sleepless Nights” in August 2025. Lisanne is also performing with her own trio called Swing Revival Trio, which is a double bass-piano-guitar trio, inspired by the legendary drumless trios of Oscar Peterson and George Shearing. Trio’s debut album will be released in spring 2027. Lisanne has previously performed at Tudengijazz festival in Estonia, and at the Red Light Jazz and North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. 

 

Lisanne  is fascinated with jazz, because for her it symbolises all the colors and emotions of a human life – it has the blues, most heart-wrenching ballads, and the fascinating swing rhythm. Her piano playing is shaped thoroughly by pianists such as Oscar Peterson, Red Garland and Rossano Sportiello. For her compositions, she mostly draws inspiration from the great American songbook composers such as Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.
