EESTI JAZZLIIT

14th concert season
of the Jazz Estonia
will begin in September

In September, the 14th concert season of Jazz Estonia will begin!

At the opening concert of the season, which takes at the NO99 Jazz Club on 8 September, The Swingin’ Sisters & Band takes the stage and Tallinn Swing Dance Society dancers set the mood in front of it – a great swing party is expected! The new season will begin in all other Jazz Clubs as well.

In September, the Jazz Estonia is organising five concerts in Tallinn:

  • On 15 September, the concert to celebrate the centenary of Thelonious Monk – one of the grandees of jazz history, a pianist and a composer – will take place at the NO99 Jazz Club. As a tribute, music is played by the best Estonian and Finnish jazz musicians.
  • On 22 September, Kolm Kõla performs at the NO99 Jazz Club. They use a rare combination of the Estonian zither, a double-bass and a vocal, also different music styles.
  • On 23 September, Kadi Vija & Lucas Dann are at the Philly Joe’s Jazz Club presenting their debut album Ugly Beauty which is a tribute to the jazz grandee Thelonious Monk.
  • On 29 September, Maria Faust & Dag Magnus Narvesen are performing at the NO99 Jazz Club – both performers are first known by their large ensembles but this time the audience will receive simplicity, spontaneity, and the magic of acoustic sounds.

The tickets to the Tallinn concerts are available on GateMe.

There are eight concerts organised outside Tallinn in September:

  • The concert celebrating the centenary of Thelonius Monk – one of the grandees of jazz history, a pianist and a composer – will take place on 16 September at the Jazz Club of the University Café in Tartu.
  • Linda Kanter Quartet are going on a mini tour presenting their debut album Mustab and will perform at Jazz Club WALK on 21 September, at Võru Jazz Club on 22 September, at Rakvere Jazzukohvik on 23 September, and at Jazz Time Club on 30 September.
  • Kadi Vija & Lucas Dann with their debut album Ugly Beauty will perform at Endla Jazz Club on 22 September, making it a tribute to Thelonious Monk, the jazz grandee.
  • Maria Faust & Dag Magnus Narvesen, this time experimenting in a small duo, will perform at Viljandi Jazz Club on 26 September and at the Jazz Club of the University Café in Tartu on 30 September.
