We are delighted that Jazz Estonia can once again contribute to the organisation of this internationally acclaimed festival. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jazz Estonia invites all TMW jazz lovers to Fotografiska! We will present fresh and dynamic jazz from Estonia and across Europe, creating a vibrant soundscape where improvisation meets virtuosity. This year, the Jazz Stage runs over two evenings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, 10 April<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Omasta (PL)<\/strong><br \/>\nOmasta\u2019s music is powerful and full-bodied: dense drum grooves and deep bass form a solid foundation, above which melodic dialogues unfold between piano, trumpet, saxophone, and flute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u00e9on Phal (FR)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn just a few years, L\u00e9on Phal has emerged as one of the most exciting jazz musicians of his generation. His virtuosic command of the saxophone, exceptional melodic sensibility, and delicately crafted compositions \u2013 driven by a powerful groove \u2013 make him a compelling force on stage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Toms Rudzinskis ABYSS (LV)<\/strong><br \/>\nSaxophonist and composer Toms Rudzinskis builds bridges between the acoustic and electronic worlds, as well as between structure and freedom. Known for his bold, conceptual approach, he is a two-time recipient of Latvia\u2019s Jazz Album of the Year, was named Jazz Artist of the Year in 2024, and has been nominated for the Latvian Music Grand Award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kaisa Ling &amp; Ren\u00e9 Paul (EE)<\/strong><br \/>\nEstonia\u2019s best \u2013 and at the same time only \u2013 \u201cbuffoon blues\u201d duo. This collaboration extends far beyond the blues, blending theatre, cabaret, political commentary, and self-ironic humour. The audience never knows whether the next song will be a heart- wrenching ballad or sharp satire \u2013 but indifference is never an option.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flow Rea (EE)<\/strong><br \/>\nFlow Rea is a fresh and distinctive trio whose music weaves together the finest elements of soul, hip-hop, and jazz. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Alfa Mist and Yussef Dayes, their sound is driven by strong musical synergy and the individual sonic identity of each member.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rahel Talts Quartet (EE \/ DK \/ LT \/ PL)<\/strong><br \/>\nJazz pianist and composer Rahel Talts is active primarily in Denmark, Lithuania, and Estonia, as well as across Europe more broadly. She has taken part in numerous international projects, including the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy in Hamburg (2021), the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra in Vilnius (2023), and the International Jazz Platform in Oslo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, 11 April<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Sketchbook Quartet (AT)<\/strong><br \/>\nSketchbook Quartet has played an important role in strengthening the international visibility and confidence of the Austrian jazz scene. Their sound is fresh and eclectic \u2013 joyful, yet with a subtle edge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Josefiina Vannesluoma (FI)<\/strong><br \/>\nJosefiina Vannesluoma is a performer of poetic chamber jazz, creating music that is sensitive, atmospheric, and rich in detail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kadi Vija 3 (FI \/ EE)<\/strong><br \/>\nA Helsinki-based ensemble whose music is marked by joy and a free-spirited approach to jazz improvisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dasom Baek (KR)<\/strong><br \/>\nDasom Baek is a composer and improviser who performs on traditional Korean wind instruments, primarily the daegeum and sogeum. Her contemporary experimental music blends traditional performance practices with electronic and modern soundscapes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c0VDYSH (UA)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00c0VDYSH is a project by Ukrainian singer and composer Kateryna Avdyshi, blending a contemporary musical language with personal expression and a strong emotional charge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johannes Laas Trio (EE)<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the heart of the trio\u2019s musical world are melody, playfulness, and lightness, balanced by deeper contrasts. Improvisation and the synergy of collective playing keep the music fresh and alive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>H\u00c4\u00c4\u00c4L (EE)<\/strong><br \/>\nH\u00c4\u00c4\u00c4L is a trio in which three distinctive voices come together: Ivi Rausi, Anett Tamm, and Sirje Medell.
